Description

This course is directly following the Environmental Noise Management Course.
Theoretical and practical training in noise monitoring solutions, covering both hardware and software. Urban and airport noise monitoring applications will be demonstrated and used in real scenarios and a practical approach to monitoring according to standards and good practices will be addressed.

Objectives

To give an overview of noise monitoring techniques and tools available.
To give the participants hands-on experience in effective noise monitoring.
To inform about relevant legislation, standards, good practices, theory, hints and tips.

Participants

Professionals involved in the monitoring, assessment and control of environmental noise from airports, industries, roads, railways, construction sites, open air concerts, sports events, etc.. For those involved in management and policing of noise limits, etc., e.g., Environmental Officers employed in national, regional and local authorities, in industry, and in infrastructure (e.g. airports, transport), and Consultants.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of fundamental acoustics.
