Control of Roll Stability as a part of the vehicle stability control is normally integrated into the ESC or the suspension system. The system prevents the car from tilting heavily by activating the brakes or activating special stabilization bars. When the Control of Roll Stability function is integrated into the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) clusters, it needs an additional longitudinal sensor with a measuring range of 1 to 2g.

When the Control of Roll Stability is an independent system then the accelerometers are stand alone sensors and normally one is assembled into the roof of the car and the second one at the same position, but close to the floor of the car. The vehicle ranges with this feature include SUVs and off-road cars with high total height and/or high suspension.
