HANNOVER MESSE 2008 (HANOVER TRADE FAIR, HMI)

HMI 2008, including INTERKAMA which follows it, begins on April 21, 2008, and as an annual forum, it will once again bring thousands of specialist users from the world of industry to Hanover.

Knick is participating with its own stand in the area occupied by the AMA Association for Sensor Technology – as a competent provider of complete measuring circuits: everything from fittings and sensors to cables and transmitters.

At HMI 2008, Knick will be showing a whole range of new products. Here, the first thing worthy of mention is the completed range of InduCon® sensors for pH measurement, which is appealing due both to the special quality of the sensors and the pioneering contactless joining technology.

The use of InduCon® in process analysis technology allows a particularly safe work method, which is simultaneously cost-saving. Considerable savings potentials arise in terms of operating costs for many applications through a combination of the automated measurement equipment Unical® 9000, newly developed by Knick, and the ceramically sealed retractable fitting Ceramat®, or the new sensor lock-gate SensoGate®. They result in a rapid amortization of the initial investment.

Knick has also demonstrated intelligent solutions for extreme technical requirements and this particularly in the area of pH measurement. Here, a service is rendered for many special areas, such as applications in which hygiene certification is required for machine parts which affect processes: The new SensoGate® H has received EHEDG certification – independent proof of hygiene-oriented design and construction.

IFAT 2008

On May 8th, IFAT, the 15th International Trade Fair for Water, Sewage, Refuse, Recycling, will open its doors at the Munich Trade Fair Center.

Knick offers products for the online analysis of important water parameters in the area of water processing and sewage treatment and will therefore attend IFAT as an exhibitor again this year - like at the previous trade fairs in Munich in a stand shared with the company MSA AUER.

In the Bavarian capital, Knick will be presenting its complete product range for liquid analysis – from sensors and the required fittings to a graduated line of transmitters. Of particular interest are the new InduCon® sensors, which play a major role in achieving easy handling and safe operation with their contactless, inductive plug-in connectors. While traditional sensors are connected to the cable via metallic contacts, and are sensitive to humidity and contamination at the contact point, here, InduCon® sensors have a complete plastic enclosure – without any open metal contact and with perfect galvanic isolation. As a result, humidity, contaminations, and conductive coatings are no longer relevant to the measurement, because the inductive transmission occurs without hindrance from these influences. Wet hands, rain, or dew have no impeding effect on the transmission of measured values.

As a result, the availability and reliability of the measurement significantly increase; a great deal of time is also saved during machine maintenance due to easy handling. We will be happy to present to you some additional details and application benefits which result from the use of InduCon technology.
